Montauk Dive Bar I love has an intimate Italian ambiance and provides the ideal spot for relaxing after spending a day at the beach or golf course. There’s even a pool table and Mortal Kombat arcade to keep things interesting while many TVs can show sports events!
An old-time favorite from Brooklyn opens a year-round outpost on Montauk’s main drag, serving up delectable pizza such as Marissa Tomeito and Uruala’s Parade pies that will satisfy even the pickiest eater.
Ask any East End foodie with any knowledge of San Marzano tomato cans where to find the region’s best pizza, and they may mention L’industrie–a South Williamsburg favorite known for its pie-or-slice format and Action Bronson block parties in South Williamsburg. However, other lesser-known gems await discovery–since 2010, an increasing number of quality Neapolitan-style pizzerias have opened across Greenport to Montauk with domed ovens heating their doors up!
Il Forno has quickly become one of the most beloved pizza restaurants in Montauk since opening last summer in an exquisite yacht club on Lake Montauk – Chef Jeremy Blutstein made this his inaugural dining space and welcomes dine-in guests, takeout orders, and delivery service to Lake Montauk. Menu choices for Pizza Inn include seven unique pizzas, all offered as personal-size pizzas (though any reasonably hungry human adult could likely consume two entire pies in one sitting). The dough comprises organic flour and double-fermented yeast, while mozzarella slices are freshly made daily and finished with seawater, kosher salt, and olive oil for extra flavor. High-end ingredients such as duck prosciutto for the stracciatella or pickled ramps for razor clam pie are sourced locally when possible.
Casual dining at this restaurant makes for the ideal summer evening out, featuring rustic banquettes, red and white oilcloth tablecloths, metal chairs, Chianti bottles with candles inside them lining the walls, pool table, flat-screen TVs for sports games, pool table and pool, pool balls as well as other snacks besides pizza (such as pasta bolognese, Caesar salads or chicken parmesan). Dessert can also be found here if there’s still room left!
Dive Bar Pizza may be slightly out of the way, but it’s worth making time for their delicious pizza by the slice or pie! Situated in Jamesport’s pint-sized village, Dive Bar is best known for their homemade pasta and phenomenal pizza – their crust is light and airy, while toppings are always fresh and perfectly seasoned. Their menu includes vodka-infused margarita cocktails as well as its signature pizza martinis!
Harvest on Fort Pond offers delectable local food in Montauk, from its seafood dishes and pizza selection to popular tourist and local choices such as lobster rolls and seafood chowder. Or for something truly New England-esque, try their traditional clam bake!
Fort Pond Restaurant stands out with its picturesque waterfront location and delicious cuisine – wood-fired pizzas feature an assortment of toppings to delight diners and lobster rolls are famous, as are grilled octopus dishes. Don’t miss dessert; their tiramisu is genuinely decadent, or try one of their unique takes on classic cheesecake!
Harvest on Fort Pond restaurant is best enjoyed during summer, yet still offers excellent seafood dishes to visitors to Montauk. Their lobster roll and clam bake are popular selections; there is an impressive seafood risotto selection. Their outdoor seating makes Harvest an excellent spot for enjoying dinner with friends. When planning a trip to Montauk, it would be wise to reserve at Harvest on Fort Pond to ensure an unforgettable dining experience!
At Montauk’s heart lies this popular restaurant. Their pizza is delicious, and the service is friendly and helpful; there is an impressive wine and beer selection, as well as TV screens displaying sporting events worldwide.
Mamma Lombardi’s is one of the area’s best-loved Italian eateries, and its owners have taken great pride in creating this cozy Mattituck market and food hall for its patrons to enjoy delicious slices and pies, from classic Margherita to vongole and fig varieties.
Blade + Salt offers delicious pizza at great value, while their service is outstanding. Primarily take-out, but some indoor and outdoor seating is available, as is very affordable lunch fare with meat and veggie options on its menu.
Roberta’s is the perfect place to satisfy late-night pizza cravings and keep you coming back. First opening its doors on Moore Street in Bushwick back in 2008 as a converted warehouse featuring graffiti art and a laid-back vibe, Roberta’s has since expanded with outposts all across New York and Los Angeles; more recently, they brought their classic Brooklyn pizza all the way out to Montauk!
Brandon Hoy and co-owner Erick Pereira had been looking for space near Montauk’s LIRR station for some time and were pleased to find that 240 Fort Pond Road was available – taking over where Arbor closed earlier in 2018.
At this pizza joint, slices are best enjoyed and eaten, though whole pies can also be ordered. Their Neapolitan-style pizzas feature top-grade mozzarella and locally produced cured meats; no wonder their slices are some of the best in the Hamptons! Try their Bee Sting pizza topped with tomatoes, mozzarella, soppressata, basil, chili, and honey for the ideal balance between sweet and savory!
They offer delicious Italian apps and pasta selections like their delicious polenta with sea urchin. And, of course, their pizza never fails to satisfy; we particularly enjoyed the one featuring both sweet and savory elements – particularly their fig and guanciale variety!
Unusual for a restaurant known for its lively ambiance, California Pizza Kitchen pioneered vacuum seal-packaging their slices for cross-state shipping – but it seems to work. No matter if it’s their signature Margherita or seasonal Market Pie you crave, nothing could go wrong here.
Interior details nod to Brooklyn with red and white oilcloth tablecloths, metal chairs, Chianti bottles, and Ninja Turtle video games outside the restrooms. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful, while the food quality was consistently delicious; prices were also incredibly fair! I can’t wait to visit again!
Ask any pizza-lover from Greenport to Montauk about their favorite place for New York-style slices, and they may name L’industrie or Ops as one of the best places in the Hamptons to experience them. These foldable cheese-laden slices have long been part of our culinary landscape – however, recently, the Hamptons has seen an upswing of more subtle offerings without forks, such as catering services that deliver pizza by delivery service such as Slice Mobile.
This summer has seen an upsurge in fork-free pizza restaurants on the East End–but they haven’t all received equal acclaim.
That may soon change with the opening of Best Pizza–which calls itself “Best Pizza & Dive Bar.” Their focus will return to pizza. Their limited menu consists of pizza slices by the slice, garlic knots, chicken parmesos, and fun drinks (such as The Big Apple, which blends guava juice with rum).
Order regular slices or sample their delectable Grandma pie; try one of their specialty pizza, too – from grilled chicken to shrimp scampi! Additionally, when the sun is out on a clear afternoon or evening, sit outside in one of their outdoor seating areas and watch Montauk come alive before your eyes!
As an added perk, Luigi’s Italian Specialties on Pantigo Road in East Hampton also operates under the ownership of this new pizzeria – so you don’t even have to travel out to Napeague for delicious pizza slices! As proof, Dave Portnoy (founder of Barstool Sports, who reviews pizza via Instagram with scores out of 10) was recently seen dining here–she gave it an outstanding score of 7.0!
